A community wellness and culinary program highlighting nutritious eating. This live demonstration teaches culinary skills using fresh, locally grown, seasonal fruits and vegetables provided straight from the Mandela Partners Community Produce Stand. Attendees learn fresh recipe preparation methods and receive cooking guidance. To encourage home cooking, the first ten households in attendance are gifted a free batch of raw ingredients to duplicate the meal in their own kitchens. The family-friendly event is funded by the Friends of the Oakland Public Library.
